The Image within - DEVOTIONS WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE

The Image within - DEVOTIONS WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE
DEVOTIONS WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE
MARCH 22ND 2017
Topic: THE IMAGE WITHIN

“For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.” 2Corinthians 4:16

When a man gets born again, his physical being remains the same; however there is a new man that is born within which is the spirit man and this becomes the source of the true image of that man. Before you came to Jesus, certain things may have been said concerning you that might have affected your self esteem or the way you see yourself but all that changes when you receive the life of God. It is however still noticed that there are Christians who have a low self esteem and negative self image. This is so because they see the wrong image of themselves.
Other Devotional by Rev Ken Esekhaigbe

There is a way God sees you and that is how He wants you to see yourself. Some people, because of what people have said about them, and situations they have been through have created a low self image of who they are forgetting who God has made them to be. No matter what your physical situation may be, never let it make you forget who you are on the inside.

Like our opening scripture indicates, “…though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.” Seeing the right image of yourself and walking in the consciousness inspires your faith to be activated causing you to be victorious. A man who already sees himself as a failure, even though God has called Him a success, he can hardly become one. The bible says “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:” Prov 23:7.

The reason many see the wrong image is that they are using the wrong mirror. The perfect mirror that shows you your true and perfect reflection is the word of God. 2Corinthians 3:18 says “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the LORD.” As you look at yourself through the mirror of Gods word, the bible says you begin to see the perfect reflection of the man within and as this happens, it causes your whole life to conform to this image you see.

This invariably means that as you begin to see the image of yourself in the word that shows you that you are more than a conqueror, you have a sound mind, you have overcome the world, your whole life will begin to turn in that direction even if in time past the world have called you a failure, as you keep your focus on this true picture of you, and continue to address yourself by it, your situation will be changed physically to conform to who you truly are, the man within.

This man within cannot fail, he is above the powers of darkness, he is bigger than any circumstance the world throws his way and the man within is the real you, do not be carried away by the weaknesses of the outward man. The image within is your true reflection, your true picture and the mirror through which you see this image continually is the word of God. Have a great day.

SCRIPTURAL REF: 2CORINTHIANS 4:18

PRAYER: Lord I see myself in the light of your word, I submit and agree only with who and what you have called me. I am a victor, more than a conqueror everyday in life as I walk in the consciousness of the man within. Amen.

TODAY APRIL 13TH 2017
TOPIC: YOU HAVE THE LIGHT OF LIFE

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” John 8:12

Beloved of God, what a great comfort our opening scripture brings to us today. This is Jesus speaking there, and he said that whoever follows Him won’t walk in darkness but shall have a life full of light.

Light is beautiful, it gives direction, it gives a focus. So imagine what your life looks like as one who has received Christ. There is no confusion about your life any longer, no uncertainty anymore because those are associated with darkness which no longer dwells in your life.

THE SEED OF FAITH - TODAY'S DEVOTIONS WITH REV KEN ESEKHAIGBE

If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord, then you have the light of life. The bible you’re your path is as a shining light that shines more and more. Therefore walk in that light. Be conscious of this truth and never talk confused or as one who is uncertain concerning the future. You are no longer just trying to find your way through life; you are now on the right course. Like our opening scripture described, anyone who follows Christ has the light of life and since light gives direction, that person has the directions for life.

So Jesus also speaking in John 14:6 said “…I am the way, the truth and the life…” Hallelujah. So all that is required of you is to walk in this light of life that you have, which is walking in the word of God.

FURTHER STUDY: JOHN 14:6. JOHN 1:4

PRAYER: My path is as a shining light, shining more and more unto a perfect day. There is no confusion or uncertainty in my life for my life is flooded with light, direction, beauty and focus. Amen.

INSTRUCTIONS - TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE

INSTRUCTIONS - TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE

YOU ARE READING TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE
EASTER MONDAY APRIL 16TH 2017
TOPIC: INSTRUCTIONS

And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. Luke 5:5

Instructions are our life, and the ones we have obeyed or disobeyed have played a major role on the outcome and experiences we’ve had in life. In the world today, we find so many, even Christians ready to carry out their Doctors instructions, lawyers instructions and it goes on and on.

ALSO READ THIS: THE IMAGE WITHIN

While all that is okay, it is important to understand that the source of the best instructions for our lives is the word of God. Sometimes we respond faster to the doctor’s instructions than we are ready to respond to Gods instructions and it shouldn’t be so. Our opening scripture exposes to us the case of Simon Peter who had toiled all night, tried with all the skills he had but caught nothing. He probably must have used all the skills his instructor gave him, yet he caught nothing.

In today’s world this can be likened to a man who has tried all he can to go further in his business and has used all he learnt in school from his instructors or from his masters yet no progress. Like Simon, all such a person needs is just a word from God. At the instruction of Jesus, Peter tried again on the same sea where it had not worked and suddenly he made so great a catch that he needed partners to help him with the catch. Thank God he listened and obeyed the words of Jesus.

It could be in the area of health, you may have tried so many doctors or physicians to no avail, what you need is God’s word concerning that situation. Just like in the case of Naaman, one instruction from Prophet Elisha which he reluctantly obeyed brought about his healing from leprosy.

There is actually no need for struggle in life if we will just hearken to Gods instructions to us through His word or through His servant sent into our lives. Be quick to obey the instructions of your man of God in any area of life, when God leads you through His spirit to carry out certain instructions, they may seem naturally unwise but your obedience to that simple instruction could be the key to your next miracle. Have a great day.

FURTHER STUDY: 2KINGS 5: 1-15

CONFESSION: Father in heaven, I thank you for your word to me today. I trust completely in your instructions and declare that I submit to every word of instruction from you that I receive through your word and your Servant whom you sent to my life. Amen.

Love for the Brethren - Rev Ken Esekhaigbe's Daily Devotional

READ TODAY'S DEVOTIONS WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE
Topic: LOVE FOR THE BRETHREN
MARCH 13TH 2017
Rev Ken Esekhaigbe

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Matthew 25:40

Our love for God is something we always want to express as His children. We always want to render service to Him, worship and adore Him and much more which is splendid but there is one very simple way to serve and love God that many neglect.
Our opening scripture is quite revealing as regarding this subject. Jesus was letting the people know how God view their acts of service rendered to fellow brethren. God attributed it to Himself. Every act of service done for a fellow brethren in love is regarded as service unto the Lord. We need to see God in one another to be able to express love to each other as we are supposed to. The bible says in 1John 4:7 “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.” For the believer in Jesus Christ, love is expected to come naturally because this is one of the attributes and evidence of our new life.
This love is also not the kind of love expressed by the people of the world. It is agape. Gods unconditional love. And this is why Jesus says “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.” John 13:34. Jesus was not saying here that we should be crucified for anyone, He was talking about the unconditional nature of His love that loves regardless of time, personality or circumstances. Jesus was saying if He could love us that much, that even while we were still deep in sin, He died for us,(John15:13) then we need to show this love to one another and He went further in verse 35 to say “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.”
As you express your love for people, especially those of the Lords house hold, you are expressing your love for the master because Jesus is the Head of the Church and we are His body so expressing love to a member of the body is expressing love to Jesus. This is why when He appeared to Saul on his way to Damascus He said “……Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?” Saul was actually persecuting the Church and by so doing Jesus said Saul was also persecuting Him. So likewise, whatever you do to those of Gods house is done unto the Lord. We need to express Godly love for one another as children of a love God. If we truly love God, then we must love our fellow brethren. Have a great day.

SCRIPT REF: Romans 13:8. 1John 3:11, 1John 3:14

CONFESSION:
Dear Lord I thank you for your love towards me. I am an extension of that love to the world and to fellow brethren. I am a love creation as a new creation therefore I live out who I am. Amen.

THE RIGHTEOUS SHALL FLOURISH -DEVOTIONAL WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE

TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE

YOU ARE READING TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE
TODAY: MARCH 28TH 2017
TOPIC: THE RIGHTEOUS SHALL FLOURISH

“The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.” Psalm 92:12

Do you know every child of God was born to do big things. It is not something to be careful or humble about. It is a magnificent truth. It doesn’t matter the job, work or assignment in your hand. The infallible word of God said, The righteous shall flourish; therefore whatever is committed to your hand is commanded to flourish. To flourish means to grow, do well, increase greatly. You may ask, “Am I righteous?” Well, if you have received Christ, righteousness was inputed to you. Not because of what you did, it is simply a gift. So enjoy it and its dividends.

Never be too humble to think great, to visualize yourself as prosperous and influential. It is what your Heavenly Father has said concerning you and done for you. You shall flourish. Anything committed to your hands cannot fail. You may start out small, but the bible says though your beginning be small your later days shall be greatly increased. Take note it is not limited to the country you come from or your family background.

Anywhere you find yourself, you are expected to flourish.
So in all you do, after following the principles of God’s word, always expect, visualize, think and see nothing but increase and growth. Declare upon that business, that job, the assignment in your hands, that you are commanded to flourish. Never accept mediocrity, it is not a sign of holiness neither is it of God. As a Christian you are created to flourish. So flourish in Jesus name.

FURTHER READING: ZECHARIAH 1:17. PSALM 92:12-14

PRAYER: I declare today that I flourish in every area and every place I find myself, everything in my hands is commanded to grow and increase. I refuse mediocrity, I flourish, I increase, I multiply and become exceedingly great in Jesus name. Amen.

YOUR LIFE IS FULLY WORKED OUT - DAILY DEVOTIONS WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE

WELCOME TO DAILY DEVOTIONS WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE
TODAY MARCH 20TH 2017
TOPIc: YOUR LIFE IS FULLY WORKED OUT
DAILY DEVOTIONS WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE

“For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?” Luke 14:28

In our opening scripture Jesus was exposing a principle as regards planning, and Gods principles are used by God Himself. so our opening verse says for a man who wants to begin a project, he must sit down first to count the cost to ensure he can finish it, this invariably means Gods projects are fully planned before He ever begins implementation.
You are a project in Gods hand and more so, a finished one. Before you ever stepped foot in this world, from your mother’s womb, God had fully worked out the events of your life. He has completely counted all the cost you would run on earth and made full provisions on ground for them.

You are not and cannot be an abandoned project. Whatever that dream is, whatever that desire is, so long as it is in accordance to Gods will then God is your sufficiency because He had pre-planned for it. You may feel caught unawares by some situation, but God is not, because He had already made sufficient all that is required in that situation.
The bible says in Ephesians 2:10 (AMP): “For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus , [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].” It says God has prearranged our lives, and the arrangements He made was for a good life.

The bible says “living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live.” Knowing this should put your hearts at rest. God would not start a project without the intention to finish it. If God ever told you to do something, refuse to be carried away by whatever challenge may arise because He has completely worked it out in the realm of the spirit. In that realm, God has seen that project as good as done.

READ ALSO THIS: An Excellent Spirit

So this is why it is important for one to align oneself with God by first receiving Christ because this plan comes alive only after one has received eternal life. After that is done, you need to now key yourself into Gods word because it can light up those paths that God has arranged for you so that you can see them and walk in them. “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalm 119:105.

So beloved, be at rest for your Father knows that you will have need of these things you seek for and so has made plans for you to enjoy them. Put your trust in Him and allow Him lead you phase by phase through all that He has made ready for you. Your life is fully worked out. Live with that confidence and enjoy a great day.

SCRIPTURAL REF: MATTHEW 6:25-34

PRAYER: Lord I walk in full assurance of your sufficiency that works in me and for me everyday. Thank you for the glorious life you have prepared for me to live. Today I take those paths that you have prearranged for me to walk in, in Jesus name. amen.

INCREASE IN STRENGTH - TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE

TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE

TODAY MARCH 30TH 2017
TOPIC: INCREASE IN STRENGTH

“If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.” Proverbs 24:10

As a believer, there is no doubt that there would be trials on your journey of faith. The word of God has promised you lots of it. These trials are however not meant to make you stray or fall but they will if you do not have the required spiritual strength. Understand that the trials are not from God, but He allows some of them to strengthen our faith.

Like our opening scripture clearly points out, your fainting in the days of adversity is not because the challenge is too big, or the enemy is too strong, the reason is because your own strength is small. The Spirit of God channeled the reason for fainting to the believer. It then means that all I need to do as a believer is increase in strength and no trial will ever be an issue anymore.

ALSO READ: AN EXCELLENT SPIRIT

The bible says in Isaiah 40:31 “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” That is your secret right there; the way to continually increase in strength is to wait upon the Lord. Waiting upon the Lord doesn’t mean you sit down and do nothing. You can wait upon the Lord through study of the word, prayers, engagement in ministry activities like evangelism, also attending the assembly of fellow believers where the word of God is shared.

Know this today, the question is not the strength of the challenge, it is the strength you possess. Increase in strength today by waiting upon the Lord constantly and no opposition will be able to stop you. Have a great day.

FURTHER STUDY: Colossians 1:9-11 Ephesians 3:14-16

CONFESSION

I decree that I am filled with strength in my inner man. As I stay on the word and prayer, I am filled with might for great exploits in God. Amen

A TRUE RELATIONSHIP - Rev Ken Esekhaigbe Devotional

Rev Ken Esekhaigbe

DAILY DEVOTIONAL WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE
MARCH 10TH 2017
TOPIC: A TRUE RELATIONSHIP
“And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:41-42

The above opening scripture is an excerpt from a discussion between Jesus and two women whom He visited. It was actually Marthas house and when Jesus came in, both ladies were excited to see the master. Both however responded differently to the masters presence.

Martha went about trying to fix things for the master while Mary sat at Jesus feet to have a meaningful conversation with Him. Martha however was irritated with her sisters behavior and made a complaint to Jesus. Jesus however didn’t give her the response she was expecting as we can see from our opening verse. There is a very deep lesson to learn from this story.

Understand that Jesus didn’t completely condemn what Martha was doing but there was something He expected of her at that time which wasn’t what she went for. In our Christian faith, some of us are like Martha. Being so deeply involved in the work of God without developing a true relationship with Him.

A wise man once said, “In your journey of faith never get to the point where you love the work of God more than the God of the work.” It is a very good thing to be deeply involved with the work but doing that without properly developing your relationship with Him would be short-changing yourself. One thing is needful Jesus said. Truth is, when you find yourself trying to always do the work with developing your relationship, you would turn from working by grace to working by strength. And by strength shall no man prevail.

The bedrock of all we do in our Christian faith is our relationship with God. This is what takes Christianity from a mere religion to being a relationship and a life. Sometimes we run through the day doing things we believe should make the master pleased forgetting to spend time at His feet. Meanwhile it is the time spent with Him that generates the spiritual energy required to truly work for Him.

Your relationship with God, the time you spend quietly with just Him, listening and hearing from Him is very dear to Him and should be to you too. Create time for Him every single day. Not just time to attend church activities or ministry duties but also personal time one on one with Him. This makes the burden of ministry light and the yoke easy. A true relationship cannot exist without proper communication. Your personal time with the Lord can never be replaced with the time you spend on church activities, so while you render your service ensure you also enjoy a true relationship with the Lord. Have a great day.

SCRIPT REF:  John 20:17
PRAYER: My heart is set on you dear heavenly Father. I cherish my relationship with you more than any other in this world. Daily as I live, with you will I share quality time because your presence brings me joy.

THE SEED OF FAITH - TODAY'S DEVOTIONS WITH REV KEN ESEKHAIGBE

TODAY'S DEVOTIONS WITH REV KEN ESEKHAIGBE
YOU ARE READING TODAY'S  DEVOTIONS WITH REV KEN ESEKHAIGBE
TODAY MARCH 23RD 2017
TOPIC: THE SEED OF FAITH

“And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith.” Luke 17:5

In the ministry of Jesus on earth, when His apostles at some point could not handle some situations like the storm at sea, the master attributed it to a little faith. So in our opening verse the apostles who were keen in watching Jesus do mighty works and wanted to do same said unto Him increase our faith.

So Jesus answered them in the next verse “And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.” Jesus was not necessarily talking about the size of the seed like some think, the understanding He was trying to pass across was that faith is a seed, and every seed no matter how small could grow if only it is planted.

So just as no seed, whether mustard, orange, or mango would ever grow unless it is planted, so also your faith cannot grow and become more effective until it is planted.

Some believers wonder sometimes if they have faith, some even claim they don’t, but the truth is if you have received Christ then you possess a measure of faith because you can’t receive Christ without faith. The bible says “….as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.” Romans 12:3b. So what is expected of you as a believer after having received this measure of faith is to begin to plant it. How do you plant your faith?

In that same Luke 16:6 Jesus said when this faith seed is available “….Ye might SAY unto the sycamine tree….” He was showing them just how to plant the seed of faith available to them by SPEAKING forth words. The bible says “faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God” Romans 10:17. Speaking is in two dimensions, whereby the Spirit of God speaks to you through the word or through the preacher or mediums like this very devotional.

Then the second part is after you have heard the word thereby receiving faith, you also go ahead to give a voice to the word by speaking it also, and that is when faith is planted. Paul speaking by the Spirit in 2Corinthians 4:13 said “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;” When you have planted your faith by speaking words of faith, you must also now continually water it by continuous declaration of that word of faith.

Once you begin to talk about the problem again, you are digging out the seed you have planted and this is where some have got it wrong. You may have spoken a word of faith concerning your finance or health or any other area of your life, refuse to say otherwise regardless of how the physical picture may still appear.
For example you may say “the Lord supplies all my need according to His riches in glory therefore I will never lack”, after saying that, don’t turn around to begin to complain about the situation, rather water it by thanking God for supernatural supply and also walking with the consciousness of supply. And just as every other seed that is planted and well watered produces harvest.

Orange seed produce orange tree, mango seed produce mango tree, your faith too will eventually yield the harvest of what it talks about. Have a great day.

SCRIPTURAL REF: 2 Corinthians 4:13

CONFESSION: Thank you Lord for the measure of faith, my faith is alive and active. It produces for me in every area of life. I refuse to walk by sight, I choose to walk by faith every day.

TOPIC: VISIONS (Part 1)

Where there is no vision the people perish…….., (Proverbs.29; 18)

God is a God of vision, and every man that has excelled in God was a man of vision, because it takes vision to accelerate and make progress, vision is that force that causes a man to press for the prize of the high calling, vision is what gives a man on a mission the focus he needs to fulfill destiny.

Many people due to a lack of understanding of what vision really is, think seeing of visions is not for everyone and isn’t really important but that’s not true.

ALSO READ YESTERDAY'S DEVOTIONAL: MANUAL FOR LIFE

Vision brings motion and where there is no vision, there will be no motion, and even if there is motion, it is most likely going to be in the wrong direction. In life, every man moves in the direction of what he sees, so what you are seeing at the moment determines the direction you will go in life, whether positive or negative. Therefore it is important for everyone to see something to propel him into the future, and that is VISION.

Let us take a look at the case of a growing child. Sometimes when you want to get the child to move in a certain direction or even get the child to walk at all, you place a toy in the direction you want the child to go and the child looking at the toy he wants to get, starts going in the direction of the toy. That toy in our study symbolizes vision, because vision defines the direction a man goes in life. Every man moves in the direction of what he sees and until you begin to see something your direction may not be accurate or there may even be no motion at all.

To be continued………

TODAY FRIDAY MAY 12TH 2017
TOPIC: HE IS REAL (PART 2)

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

We established yesterday that the Holy Spirit is a person. He is a spirit being that cannot be seen with the physical eyes but you can know Him because He is closer than the very shirt on your body.

He has come to help you live the true life God has made available for you in Christ. Without Him, no one can truly have a relationship with the father. He is exactly like Jesus, a comforter, helper, standby, teacher, intercessor and more. So Jesus said “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;” Jesus was a comforter and that’s why He said “another comforter.” However in the case of the Holy Ghost, you relate with Him from your spirit which isn’t difficult at all.

Remember He is not just an influence as some take Him, He is a person and He is real.

To enjoy His relationship all you need to do is first accept Jesus if you haven’t, then ask Him to fill you and He will because He loves to, if you also have already received Him, develop your relationship with Him.

CLEANSING BY THE WORD - DEVOTIONS WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE

TODAY MARCH 18 2017
Topic: CLEANSING BY THE WORD

“Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.” John 15:3

It is completely awesome thinking about the usefulness of God’s word in our lives. Jesus speaking in our opening scripture shows us yet another way the word benefits us as children of God. He said we are clean through the word. So true.

You know, in receiving Christ it is our spirit that is born anew, our mind remains the same. This has been an issue for some because they wonder why they still have some negative cravings; it is simply because the mind needs some cleansing from old thought patterns, negative imaginations and all other sorts of evil desires. So, it is handed to us in the word. The word of God is that cleansing agent that completely wipes out all sorts of imaginations, cravings and desires that pertain to unrighteousness.

More so, it doesn’t just wipe these things away, it also replaces them with Godly, beautiful and lovely thoughts and desires. Some people wonder why they keep talking wrongly and speaking guile, it is simply a matter of cleansing of your mind. The bible says out of the fullness of the heart the mouth speaketh, so if the heart is filled with dirt, you cant speak clean words. What is required is more intake of Gods’ word. As it gets into your spirit, it cleanses out every contrary stuff in your heart and then it settles. It is light, so it cleanses out every darkness when you receive it into your spirit. The word of God refreshes us in a dark and negative world. If you feel overburdened because of the challenges faced in the world around you, what you need is refreshment through the word. Just like you would take your bath when you come back from the days work to refresh and clean up your physical body from physical dirts, more so you should clean up your inner man everyday with the word from every kind of spiritual dirt.

This is why you must receive the word of God with gladness and meekness. As you do this, you’ll see your life go from glory to glory by the Spirit of the Lord. Your thoughts and imaginations would be pure thereby giving you a beautiful and glorious life.

SCRIPTIRAL REF: EPHESIANS 5:26, ROMANS 12:2

PRAYER: Lord I thank you for your word that purifies my spirit and soul from all unrighteousness. As I receive your word today, I will be completely refreshed by it in Jesus name. Amen.

And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top [may reach] unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. Genesis 11:4

We have looked at vision to some level now, but at this point, it is important we set some things straight.

Probably because we have talked about vision as being a picture of the future, some might misconstrue vision for ambition, and these are completely different things.

ALSO READ YESTERDAY'S DEVOTIONAL: VISIONS (Part 2)

What those people had in our opening scripture is a good example of ambition, not vision, and ambition most times is against Gods purpose just like it was in our opening scripture.

Ambition is always self driven and self-centered which is not the case with vision. Vision is always about fulfilling a purpose and meeting needs regardless of self.

The first confirmation of a true vision is that there must be a purpose to it; the purpose of every vision is always spelt out clearly in the vision. Like in the case of Paul who had a heavenly vision on the way to Damascus, it was clear what God wanted him to do *But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this PURPOSE…… To open their eyes, [and] to turn [them] from darkness to light, and [from] the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.* Acts 16:16a, 18. The purpose to a vision is always clear and vision is not manufactured by oneself, it is inspired by God.

This doesn’t mean we should sit and do nothing, there is a place of prayer and also staying around visionaries to help inspire vision but it is also important to know that our number vision after receiving Christ is already spelt out in Mark 16:15 *And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.* As you begin with this vision, God will unveil more to you through His Spirit.

FURTHER STUDY: ACTS 16:15-18.

CONFESSION:
I decree that I am full of vision, I am vision driven, goal oriented and by the help of the Spirit of God I fulfill every vision given by God for my destiny. Amen.

INCREASE IN UNDERSTANDING - REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE

Rev Ken Esekhaigbe

DAILY DEVOTIONAL WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE
Today - MARCH 11TH 2017
Topic: INCREASE IN UNDERSTANDING
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding Proverbs 4:7
It is almost impossible for anyone to excel beyond his level of understanding. This truth is evident in every aspect of life. If a man is suffering any predicament or situation it is simply based on the level of understanding available to him at the time. There was a time in Africa when malaria was claimed to be incurable and very deadly, but that was based on the understanding of the subject that was available then. When increase in understanding came, it wasn’t so much of a big deal anymore like it used to be.

Now, in life, there are principles laid down by God Himself with which anyone can become who ever and whatever he wants to be, question is, how many people have proper understanding of these principles. So our opening scripture says “… with all thy getting, get understanding.” Knowledge is however the first step to understanding. After knowledge comes, understanding tells you how to utilize and profit from that knowledge. Every area of life is governed by principles and laws and there is no better source from which you can get to know these principles but the word of God. This is simply because He brought the principles in the first place. Is it your finance, health or relationship? Wherever it is you desire a change, it is only going to happen by your increase in understanding regarding that area. Life does not have to be difficult at all, just learn the keys regarding life and you would be in control.

The Holy Scriptures through the ministry of the Holy Ghost is designed to give you that increase in understanding and more so spiritual understanding. “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth UNDERSTANDING unto the simple.” (Psalms119:130) As you meditate on the word of God concerning any area of life, knowledge comes and then through the Spirit of the word which is the Holy Spirit, you gain spiritual understanding and once this happens, you immediately become a master over that area of life. That was why Paul prayed for the Colossian Church, “For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;” Col 1:9, then he went further to explain the effect of this prayer in verse 10 “That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, BEING FRUITFUL IN EVERY GOOD WORK…” When understanding is in place, you find that you easily make progress in life. Your productivity increases.
So go for knowledge, increase in understanding and become a master in life for that is the will           of the Father for you.
SCRIPT REF: Psalm 119:104. Prov 3:13. Eph 1:16-19

PRAYER: Thank you everlasting father for increase in spiritual understanding as regards every aspect of life. I function with perfect understanding from the word and gain mastery over the issues of life in Jesus name. Amen.

RUN TO WIN - DAILY DEVOTIONS WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE

DAILY DEVOTIONS WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE.JPG
DAILY DEVOTIONS WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE
TODAYMARCH 16TH 2017
TOPIC: RUN TO WIN.

“Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.” 1Corinthians 9:24.

First of all, it is important to notice that the Christian journey is regarded as a race, and one of the first things you would notice about every race is that those that compete in it are dressed as light and free as possible. In our Christian journey, there are many who have received Christ but have not completely put off the things that pertain to the old life which is contrary to the new life they have received. These things are what the bible called weights. (Heb 12:1) These weights come in different forms; some are wrong belief system, traditional beliefs, wrong relationships, habits and lifestyles, even wrong jobs that are contrary to the new life one has received.  These are just to mention a few. These things reduce your pace in your Christian race.

Another thing you notice about those running in a race is that they have a focus, an end which they are trying to reach. One of the reasons some hold on to the things that pertain to the old life is that their focus and trust is not completely on God, so when little challenges arise, they run back to their old lifestyles which still serve as alternatives for  them.

God speaking to Abraham asked him to leave his home town and his father’s house to an unknown land, and in Hebrews 11:10 the bible records that Abraham journeyed looking for a city whose foundation and builder is God. This was credited to Abraham as faith because he neglected his comfort zone, old relationships, lifestyles and habits to walk with God having the focus of a city whose maker and builder is God. This is what God expects from every believer. In our journey with God, He expects us to keep our focus and attention completely on Him. Jesus said in Luke 9:62 “,….No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”

You can’t afford to run a race with so many loads tied to your back, you won’t run well and this is what happens when one gets entangled with so much worldly concerns as a child of God. So Paul says in Hebrews 12:2 “…Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of [our] faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

A vivid example is given us here in Christ; the scripture exposes to us that Jesus also had a focus; it says “who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross…” all Jesus saw was the joy that would come after the cross. So Paul speaking through the Holy Ghost admonishes believers to set their own focus on Jesus and lay aside all weights so that they can run the Christian race well. Refuse to look back. Refuse to have alternatives, let all you see be Jesus, so that you can run well and win the prize. Have a great day.

SCRIPTURAL REF:  Hebrews 12:1-2.

PRAYER: Dear Lord I thank you for your grace that has kept me thus far in this journey. I receive grace to go even further to the end, laying aside every weights and distractions and looking up to Jesus, the author and finisher of my faith. Amen.

LIBERTY ON ALL LEGAL GROUNDS - TODAY'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE

LIBERTY ON ALL LEGAL GROUNDS - TODAY'S DAILY DEVOTIONAL WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE

TOPIC: LIBERTY ON ALL LEGAL GROUNDS
TODAY SATURDAY APRIL 22ND 2017

“For where a testament [is], there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament [is] of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.” Heb 9:16-17

As far as legal grounds are concerned in the spirit, the devil and his demons no longer have any hold on any man who has received Christ. They have no right over you but they will try to harass you if you do not know your legal rights as a child of God.

Christ has paid the price of all your sin and given you a new life. This new life comes with a divine inheritance. You must come to terms with your inheritance and the legal document that contains your rights and inheritance is the word.

ALSO READ THIS DEVOTIONAL: INSTRUCTIONS

It’s true the devil has his will for you but it is not suppose to be of any effect in your life, it has no legal power over you. The bible says in our opening verse “Hebrews 9:16-17 For where a testament [is], there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a testament [is] of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.”

The testament is a will, and the bible says it can only take effect after the testator who is the owner of the will dies. The devil has not yet died and so his will cannot be of any effect in your life. Jesus on the other hand has died and has also risen, and so only His will can be of effect in your life if you stand on it and enforce your right.

The legal document that contains all the information of your rights, privileges and inheritance is the word of God. As you give yourself to the study of the word and take it into your spirit, you would be aware of who you truly are and the more your awareness, the more your enjoyment of your inheritance in Christ.

TODAY THURSDAY MAY 11TH 2017
TOPIC: HE IS REAL (Part 1)

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” John 14:26

The precious Holy Spirit is the God with us and in us today. If any man claims he can feel the presence of God, it is made possible by the Holy Spirit. He brings us Gods presence and makes Christianity a life and not just a religion.

Some have erroneously referred to Him as just a force, some think He is just the power or anointing but the Holy Ghost is more than all that, He is a person. He has the anointing, force, power and more but He is a person with personalities and should be treated as one.

Just as every human person desires a relationship, the Holy Ghost also desires to have a meaningful relationship with the Christian. He loves to talk with us and have us talk with Him, He loves to be loved and desired, and He wants to be involved in our everyday life.

You can enjoy a life of victory by building a relationship with the wonderful, loving Holy Spirit. Cease from relating with Him as just a force or anointing you need to get something done. He is the best and closest friend you could ever have because not only can He be with you, He dwells and can dwell in you. So He is with you everywhere. He is real.

...to be continued

CONFESSION: Sweet Holy Spirit, I thank you for your divine presence with me and in me today. You make my life so beautiful and I love you.

An Excellent Spirit - Rev Ken Esekhaigbe's Daily Devotional

An Excellent Spirit - Rev Ken Esekhaigbe's Daily Devotional
TODAY'S DEVOTIONS WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE
MARCH 17TH 2017
TOPIC: AN EXCELLENT SPIRIT

“Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.” Daniel 6:3

One of the attributes every believer is expected to portray is excellence. This is because the Spirit we have received as children of God is the spirit of excellence and so it is important you know this and choose to walk accordingly. While it is true that the anointing upon the life of a Christian could make things happen for him, it is also important to know that the anointing only manifests in those who have chosen to walk, talk, act and behave in the spirit of excellence.

In our opening verse, the scripture talked about a man named Daniel in whom the king could see the workings of excellence. He wasn’t just preferred above others because there was an anointing upon him, the bible also clearly indicated that he functioned with the mindset of excellence and so the king could see this in the way he handled things. In verse 2 of same Daniel 6 the bible says “And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first: that the princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage.” We can see that the king wanted those who could handle the job without damage and so Daniel was set above others because he functioned so excellently that the king believed whatever is placed in his hands would never suffer any damage.

There are many in the body of Christ today who fast and pray for promotions in their place of work or at some other areas of life and this is very okay. However, God would never place a man who is slack in the way he handles things over others no matter how long he fasts and pray. So how well do you handle what is placed in your hands? Can excellence be seen in your life? God expects us to walk with this consciousness of excellence because it is one thing to receive the spirit of excellence and another thing to walk in that spirit.

As a child of God, the bible says we have received a Spirit of sound mind and this should be evident in whatever we do. It is a mindset and a consciousness that you must choose to function with else it won’t reflect. Where excellence is in place, the anointing finds better expression causing you to be more preferred, causing you to be more favored, and bringing you before greatness. The bible says in Proverbs 22:29 “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.”

Always be conscious of the Spirit within you and choose to function accordingly. Excellence is in different areas. For some people, they are excellent in appearance but not in communication, some are excellent at their jobs but not in attitude, some are excellent at one area of life and not at other areas but for a child of God, the Spirit of excellence working in you causes you to be excellent in every area as you function in it. Have a great day.

SCRIPTURAL REF:  PROVERBS 12:26, DANIEL 6:2-3

CONFESSION:
Thank you heavenly father for the spirit of excellence that functions mightily within me. I walk in the light of who I am, handling whatever is placed in my hands with excellence and standing out in all I do.

YOU CAN WORK OUT YOUR SUCCESS - TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE

YOU CAN WORK OUT YOUR SUCCESS - TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE

YOU ARE READING TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE
TODAY TUESDAY APRIL 18TH 2017
TOPIC: YOU CAN WORK OUT YOUR SUCCESS

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” Joshua 1:8

You can create a life of success for yourself. According to the scriptures, success can be worked out. Our opening scripture says “…..thou shalt make thy way prosperous” meaning it is in your hand. So the question is how can this be done?

ALSO READ YESTERDAY'S DEVOTIONAL: INSTRUCTIONS

The scripture has given us one sure recipe for success and it broke it down for our understanding. First, it says the word of God should not depart out of your mouth. This means it has to continually be your confession. This is important because words are seed, and whatever seed you are planting today will yield a harvest of its fruits tomorrow. So if you are speaking words of blessings from the word upon yourself then you can tell just where you are going to be in the near future and vice versa. Then it says you shall meditate on it. This means you have to think on it, brood on the word.

Your meditations have the power to inspire your thought pattern and the bible says as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. So let your thoughts be inspired by what God has said about you. Then it says you shouldn’t end with just saying the word and meditating on it but go ahead to do. The book of James tells us to be doers of the word and not hearers only. So it is important you find out from Gods word your own part that you must do after you have meditated and declared the word.

You don’t declare and then sit and fold your arms; there is a place on acting based on the words you have declared.

Then it says, with your own hands, by your own self you shall make a success out of your life.

Success is not accidental, it is not by chance, it is created. Begin to create yours today by applying Gods principle for a prosperous life. Have a great day.

FURTHER STUDY: Psalm 1:1-3. Deuteronomy 29:9.

CONFESSION:
Thank you Heavenly Father for the wisdom of your word that is at work in me, causing me to prosper in all that I lay my hands to do and helping make a success out of life. I am successful and prosperous in Jesus name. Amen.

PAY ATTENTION TO THE REAL YOU. - TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE

TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE

YOU ARE READING TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL WITH REV. KEN ESEKHAIGBE
TODAY WEDNESDAY APRIL 19TH 2017
TOPIC: PAY ATTENTION TO THE REAL YOU.

For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. 1Timothy 4:8

From time to time, it is important to remind ourselves of who we truly are. As a man, you are not the flesh or body which you can see, you are a spirit. It is therefore surprising to see that most people even Christians pay attention to the flesh than to their true selves.

While it is okay to take care and exercise our physical bodies, Paul through the Spirit in our opening verse reveals that this does us little good when compared to the exercise of our spirit. This is so because the physical is a product of the spirit.

No matter how a man develops himself physically without spiritual development, he is still subject to the elements of this world.

The reason some have not been able to develop themselves spiritually is because they find it difficult to relate with spiritual matters, however, the truth is spiritual things are just as tangible and real as physical things, it all depends on your view point.

Just as a man eats physically to grow and have a healthy body, more importantly he needs to feed on the word of God for his spirit to grow and be healthy. An unhealthy spirit will lead to an unhealthy body with time. Also, just as we exercise our physical bodies, there are also spiritual exercises that build our spiritual muscles and God expects us to pay more attention to them than the physical ones.

Some of those exercises include, speaking in tongues, meditating on the word, intentionally practicing and doing the word. In the natural one can so exercise his physical sense in a specific study that he becomes a master at it, the same goes for the spiritual, you can exercise your spiritual senses to the extent that you become a master over spiritual things and a master over spiritual things is a master over the physical world.

God is a Spirit and only relates with us through our spirits so pay attention to your spirit man today because it is the real you. Have a great day.

FURTHER STUDY: Hebrews 5:14. John 4:23-24.

CONFESSION: I am a spirit I have a soul and live in a body. I live from the Spirit out. Thank you Lord for the consciousness of who I am. I live by this reality everyday
